In this ‘Painting What I See’ online arts series, participants will explore thematic collections of photographs as a source of inspiration for their individual painting projects. Participants will be provided with a set of images (using a PowerPoint slideshow), and together we discuss and analyze the elements of design. As participants progress, they will create small drawings, sketches, and paintings to help collect and share their visual ideas. This series is appropriate for learners at all levels and will be rich in collaborative and creative problem solving.

• BBC Reminiscence Archive - A number of reminiscence systems have been developed for people with dementia, based on photographs, photo books, boxes of objects and materials and interactive computer applications. The BBC wants to contribute to this growing set of supports for people with dementia and their carers by drawing on the enormous fund of photos, videos, and sound clips in its archives.
To begin, simply select a Theme (such as Sport, Events etc.) or a Decade (1930s, 1940s etc.) and choose whether you wish to have Image, Audio or Video content. The results are randomized each visit, however items can be ‘favourited’ to return to later - Click Here

Positive message hotline for seniors in self-isolation - A group of Calgary high school students have launched a free, positive message hotline for seniors in self-isolation. The Joy4All project offers a free telephone line and a friendly voice on the other end. The hotline is available by calling 1-877-JOY-4ALL and offers pre-recorded jokes, stories, motivational passages, and poems.
